About Seebamboes

Welcome to Seebamboes, an intimate culinary space located on the mezzanine above Galjoen in Cape Town’s Harrington Street. This unique collaboration between chef-restauraneurs Anouchka Horn and Neil Swart, alongside chef Adél Hughes and artist Liebet Jooste, reimagines the concept of ‘surf and turf’ with playful, nostalgic, and innovative dishes that celebrate South African ingredients.

Seebamboes—named after the kelp native to the Great African Seaforest—is a creative exploration of sea and land. Here, we deconstruct the traditional ‘surf and turf’ and elevate every element. Think unexpected combinations like kelp spaghetti with exotic mushrooms and wagyu brisket or snoek mousse paired with biltong powder and dune spinach. Each dish reflects our commitment to deliciousness, sustainability, and the abundance of local produce.

The setting is intimate and sophisticated, seating just 16 diners. High tables, reclaimed materials, and a window framing Table Mountain create a space that feels both contemporary and connected to nature. The menu evolves with the seasons, memories, and inspirations, offering a fresh adventure every time.

Our offbeat wine list is curated with the same passion as our dishes, featuring rare finds and new favourites. And for dessert? Nostalgic treats like reinvented ice cream sandwiches and Eskimo pies with a twist.

At Seebamboes, we don’t just serve food—we create experiences that celebrate the harmony of sea and land, tradition and innovation. Join us for a journey of bold flavors and shared moments.
